BRANT, Richard M., 95, a lifetime Lebanon resident, died Saturday January 16, 2016. Born September 3, 1920 in Lebanon to Alfred and Mary (nee: Monger) Brant, he was a 1938 graduate of Lebanon High School. A WWII army veteran, he was a longtime member of the American Legion. From 1961-1963, Richard served as the Lebanon Fire Chief. An avid golfer, he spent many afternoons at the Harmon Golf Course of which he was a longtime member. Richard will best be remembered as the owner of Brant’s Hardware. He loved the history of the city of Lebanon and was proud to be a part of that history. Richard is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Betty (nee: Dakin) Brant, one son, Richard F. “Dickie” Brant, one daughter, Judy Kier, and two brothers, Dan and Zane Brant. He is survived by his daughter, Leeanne Russell of Lebanon, one sister, Marjorie Brigode of Lebanon, five grandchildren, Cindy (Keith) Houseman, Julie (Mike) Baumer, Amanda Johnson, Kurt Russell, and Brittany Sibcy, and six great grandchildren, Chris Baumer, Nicole Baumer, Brandon Dray, Nick Johnson, Jacie Johnson, and Jacob Sibcy. A special thank you goes to the Brant Hardware family, past and present, for all of their help with the business. A celebration of life open house will be held on Saturday, June 4th, 2016 from 4 PM - 7 PM at the Lebanon Conference and Banquet Center-121 S. Broadway St. Lebanon, OH 45036. Memorial donations are requested to the Warren County Historical Society. Arrangements by the Oswald-Hoskins Funeral Home, Lebanon.
