Wilma Larson, 99, passed away May 8, 2019, at McPherson Memorial Hospital. She was born Oct. 22, 1919, the third daughter of Eddie D. and Adelle (Swenson) Nelson. Wilma was baptized and confirmed at Fremont Lutheran Church. Wilma married Hiram Larson, Oct. 21, 1944. To their union were born three children; Merle, Ann, and Willis.
She attended a country school, Indian Creek, and then Lindsborg High School, graduating in 1938. Working a variety of jobs for several years, raising her family, then studying as a medication and nurse’s aide, she worked at Bethany Home for 20 years. At age 80, she retired from nursing and accepted a job at the Lindsborg Senior Center where she worked seven years. Wilma was also the 2015 Hyllningsfest Queen.
She was preceded in death by: her husband, Hiram; her parents; daughter, Ann A. Murfitt; sisters, Violet Ahlstedt, and Doris Pearson; and infant brother, Virgil.
Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Sunday, May 12, at Crick-Christians Funeral Home, Lindsborg.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, May 13, at Bethany Lutheran Church, Lindsborg, with interment and committal services in Elmwood Cemetery, Lindsborg, at 1 p.m. Monday.
