Born in Cressona, on Aug. 20, 1932, he was a son of the late Lloyd R. and Helen (Ebert) Aungst. He was raised and educated in Cressona. In 1953, he entered the U.S. Army and served during the Korean War. After an honorable discharge, he started working with a contractor building homes until the late 1970s, after which he was employed at Benton Wood Products. He retired from Charles D. Roberts Co., a bat factory, in Stillwater.
Ted enjoyed carpentry and working with wood. Over the years, he built many different items for his house, including the kitchen cabinets. He could often be found tinkering around his house. He loved attending his grandson’s sporting events.
He will be greatly missed by his daughter, Renee Williams, and husband, Ric, of Bloomsburg; son, James Aungst; grandchildren: Marie Boyd, Jennifer Aungst, Lewis Williams; and two great-grandchildren. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of over 61 years, Margaret J. “Margie” Aungst, who passed away June 4, 2018; sister, Gladys Killian; and brothers: Richard and Floyd Aungst.
At Ted’s request there will be no public services. Burial will be at the convenience of his family.
