PEORIA - Loretta F. Michael, 95, formerly of Peoria, died at 10:55 p.m. Sunday, June 5, 2005, at Snyder Village in Metamora.

Born June 9, 1909, in Rosefield Township, Peoria County, to Bernard J. and Mary "Maime" Loescher Heinz, she married Ernest A. Michael on June 25, 1931, in Peoria. He died Dec. 31, 1979, in Peoria.

She also was preceded in death by one grandson, two sisters and two brothers.

Surviving are one daughter, Joan (and Robert) Bristol of Edelstein; two grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one brother, Clarence "Red" Heinz of Peoria; and one sister, Frances Cash of Pekin.

She worked for Princeville Canning Co. and also was manager of the Silver Leaf Dance Hall in Kickapoo.

She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Peoria.

A funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Resurrection Mausoleum Chapel in Peoria. Franciscan Friars will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at Wright & Salmon Mortuary, with recitation of the rosary at 7:15 p.m. Visitation also will be 30 minutes before services at the mausoleum. Entombment will be in the mausoleum.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude Midwest Affiliate.
