Mr. Stone died of respiratory arrest on Tuesday, October 20, 1998 at his home.
A native of Attala County, he was a retired rural mail carrier with the Post Office. He was a member of Unity Baptist Church.
A brother, Billy Richard Stone preceded him in death.
Survivors include; wife, Era Stone of West; daughters, Yvonne (Bibby) Gonzales of Madison, Bobbie Sue Stone of Ridgeland and Janice McLellan of West; sisters, Jean Eastwood and Marcia Melton, both of West; and two grandchildren.
Active pallbearers were Bruce Milam, Jimmy Bruce, Timmy Weeks, Stephen Adams, Troy Hodges and Johnny Edwards.
