OLIVER - In this city, April 9, 1890; Delia P. Oliver; wife of F.B. Oliver and daughter of Mr. and Mrs. D.D. Shattuck, a native of San Francisco, aged 26 years and 11 months.

Friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral services today (Friday) at 2 o'clock p.m., at the residence of the parents. Interment private.

View MemorialDelia Oliver's graveyard tombstone washed up on Ocean Beach in San Francisco, CA on June 3, 2012. The Pacific Ocean tossed the 122 year old granite marker upon the beach as if it were a pebble.

Mrs. Oliver was originally interred in Laurel Hill Cemetery in San Francisco. It is not clear whether her body remains in her intended grave-site upon Laurel Hill or was transferred to a cemetery in Colma and interred in a mass grave.

Delia, was named after her paternal grandmother Delia Presby who married William Shattuck.

Delia and William Shattuck had 13 children, David, Delia's father, being the second born.

January 1868, David D. Shattuck and family journeyed back East. Records show the steamship Arizona departed Aspinwall, Panama headed toward New York. Delia was 4.

Delia married Frank October 27, 1885.

Delia's older sister, Hannah was 8 months pregnant when Delia died. She named her baby girl Delia Oliver in honor of her departed sister.
