Irene Catherine Brabec, age 91 of Waverly, died Friday, July 1, 2005 surrounded by her loving family at the Park View Care Center in Buffalo. She was born Nov. 25, 1913 in Woodland Township, Wright County, the daughter of John and Frances Beuhl Broll Jr. Irene C. Broll and Raymond W. Brabec were joined in holy marriage Nov. 5, 1941, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Waverly. God blessed their marriage with two children. Raymond and Irene engaged in farming for many years on the Brabec homestead in Woodland Township. Irene enjoyed playing cards, long walks, and visiting with people. She was a faithful member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Waverly. Irene is survived by a son, Ed Brabec of Howard Lake; seven grandchildren: Karen(Bernie)Lueck, Dan Brabec, Scott(Angie)Brabec, Jason(Barb)Eckelberry, Karri(Chris)Baumann, Dawn(Bill)Hurley, and Cindy Eckelberry; six great-grandchildren: Anthony and Amelia; Zach, Lauren, and Erin, and Hunter Fobbe; sisters-in-law Clara Broll and Doreen Brabec; and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Frances Broll Jr.; husband Raymond W. Brabec in 1964; a daughter, Darlene A. Eckelberry in 1996; daughter-in-law Dorothy R. Brabec in 2004; great- granddaughter Emily E. Brabec; a brother, Edward Broll; and by a sister, Rosann Loebertmann.
