Mrs. Billie Willard Gordon, 95, went home to be with Jesus on Thursday, May 9, 2019. She was born on April 20, 1924, in Winston-Salem, to the late John and Mary Betty Willard. She was a member of Southside Baptist Church for over 50 years and taught Sunday school for over 45 years. In addition to her parents, Billie was preceded in death by six of her seven sisters: Betty, Virginia, Buleah, Alyne, Nancy and Tommye . She is survived by her son, Ronald Gordon and daughter-n-law, Linda Gordon, both of Concord; her only granddaughter, Amy, and her husband, Tim, of Asheville; two great-grandchildren, Emma, of Asheville, and Hunter and his wife, Casey, of Wilmington and her sister, Clemmie of Atlanta. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Monday, May 13, 2019, at 12:00 p.m. at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Pastor Ed. Locke officiating. Burial will follow in Forsyth Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital at: St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105.
