Dies Suddenly
Mrs. Goldie May Ashby, 56, of
316 E. Linden, one of the most
tireless workers in the American
Legion Auxiliary in this city, died
suddenly at two o'clock Friday,
while at work in her home.
Mrs. Ashby. active in charitable
work, was also past president of
the American Legion Auxiliary, a
member of the Past Presidents
Parley, American Legion Auxiliary
Founders of the used clothing
room at the Logansport State
hospital; chairman of the rehabilitation
committee of the Auxiliary.
Born in Cass county Feb. 5,
1905. she was the daughter of
William and Effie Michael Hile.
Her marriage in St. Joe. Mich.,
on Jan. 9, 1923. was to Vinal W.
Ashby.
Survivors are the husband; two
sons: Donald L., 1617 Silver;
Richard D., 511 Front; five grandchildren;
three sisters: Mrs. Ethel
Funk and Mrs. Betty Adamitk,
both of Chicago; Mrs. Eva Stewart.
Oakland, Calif.
Friends may call at the Fisher
funeral home after seven o'clock
this evening. Final rites will be
held there Monday at 3:30 with
tho Reverend W. H. Neeriemer
officiating. Burial will be in Cline
cemetery, Royal Center.
