Ms. Sarah Lee Johnson, daughter of Daniel and Daisy Washington, was born on August 14, 1934, in Morgan, Georgia, in Calhoun County.
She was a faithful member of Rocky Bottom Missionary Baptist Church in Shellman, Georgia. In the church and in the community, Sarah was known for her love of cooking. The kitchen was her second home. She cooked for everybody, and she took delight in doing so.
On Wednesday, May, 8, 2019, with family by her bedside, Sarah took her last breath at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany, Georgia. Preceding her in death were her parents; four brothers--Lucious, Roosevelt, Sylvester, and George Washington; five sisters--Flossie Mae, Dora Lee, Daisy, Minnie, and Ilene Washington; and three sons-- Joe Davis, Jake Davis, and Eddie Johnson
Sarah leaves behind to cherish her memories: three sons--Anthony, Willie, and Deron (Stephanie) Johnson; two daughters-- Sarah Ann (Randy) Cooper and Bernethia Johnson; brother, Tom (Joyce) Washington of Delaware; sister, Annie Doris Washington of Georgia; nine grandchildren; 16 grandchildren; and host of nieces, nephews, other family, and friends.
