She was a member of Clarks Chapel Baptist Church & enjoyed fishing, gardening, working in her flowers, hunting ginseng, & spending time with family & friends.
In addition to her parents, her husband: Dennis Byrd; a son: Kenneth Byrd; 4 brothers: Corbett Byrd, Bill Byrd, Bob Byrd, & Ralph Byrd; 5 sisters: Martha McDaniel, Alice Hensley, Estella Ray, Eva Bray, & Mary Bray preceded her in death.
She is survived by her loving children: Melvin Byrd & wife Brenda, & Kathy Millsaps & husband Darrell all of Sextons Creek; a brother: James Byrd & wife Doris of Northern, KY; 4 sisters: Ada Sester & husband Carl Wayne of Sextons Creek, Lillie Ray & husband James of Ells Branch, Rosie Hornsby & husband Ronnie of Little Wildcat & Emma Day of Crane Creek; 3 grandchildren: Dennis Samuel Byrd, Matthew Scott Byrd, & Brandy Nicole Millsaps; 2 great grandchildren: Nevaeh Marie Melton & Darius Melton; & a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives & many friends to mourn her passing.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Betty Byrd will be conducted on Friday, May 10, 2019 in the Clarks Chapel Baptist Church at 1:00 P.M. with Rev. Frank Cunnigan officiating. Burial will follow in the Clarks Cemetery with family & friends serving as Pallbearers. Barbourville funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.
Friends may call at the Clarks Chapel Baptist Church on Thursday from 5 to 9 P.M. & Friday from 10 A.M. to the Funeral Hour at 1.
