Scott McConnell, 58, of Spirit Lake passed away on Tuesday, May 7, 2019 at Lakes Regional Healthcare in Spirit Lake.
Memorial services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, May 13, 2019 at the United Methodist Church in Spirit Lake. Visitation will be from 4-6 p.m. Sunday at the Schuchert-Lentz Funeral Home in Spirit Lake.
Scott was born on October 1, 1960 in Sac City, IA to Jack and Shirley (Frank) McConnell. He graduated from Lake View High School. He was united in marriage to Julie Richardson in 1990. Scott owned and operated S &C Services, providing lawn care and snow removal in the lakes area.
In his younger years, Scott enjoyed motorcycles and cars. He participated in hill climb competitions across the country with the Peanuts and Sadee Frank family. When he wasn’t working, he enjoyed camping, boating, woodworking, trips to the zoo with the kids and just really had a great time being a dad. He always looked forward to going to the Black Hills with friends, spending hours riding the trails with his ATV.
Left behind to cherish his memory is his wife Julie McConnell of Spirit Lake; daughter Ashley McConnell of Brookings, SD; son Corey McConnell of Spirit Lake; mother Shirley Stout of Sac City, IA; and his beloved dog Sawyer, and grand dogs Beau and Chevy. Many aunts, uncles, cousins, sisters and brothers in-law.
He was preceded in death by his father Jack and his brother Steve.
