Mauna married James Hackleman June 30, 1945. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. Mauna was reared in Cleveland, Idaho and graduated from Thatcher High School.
She touched the lives of everyone around her. She had a great sense of humor and the greatest joy in her life was her husband, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Mauna was very giving, always putting others first. She loved family outings and family reunions.
She was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers, Charles Lewis, Owen, Winzlow, LaVar, Ivan, and two sisters Carrie and Elda. Also, by her two sons, Charles and Brent.
Mauna is survived by her husband, her children, James K. Hackleman, Roy, UT; and Shirlene (Paul) VanAlfen, Ogden, UT. Also her seven grandsons, Jeff Hackleman, Tim Hackleman, Travis VanAlfen, Cameron VanAlfen, Casey VanAlfen, Justin Hackleman, and Jason Hackleman. In addition, her seven great-grandson, two great granddaughters, several dear friends and extended family members.
Funeral services will be Saturday, December 23, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. at the Brigham City 13th Ward Chapel, 25 North 300 East, Brigham City, UT. Friends and family may call on Friday, December 22, 2006 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Myers Mortuary, 205 S. 100 E., Brigham City and on Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the Church.
Interment will be in the Brigham City Cemetery.
