James Edward Sheppard was born in Muncie, Indiana on April 1, 1950, the son of Freeman and Roxanne Williams Sheppard. He departed this life Tuesday morning, May 7th at his home in the Meadow Creek community.
James served his country with honor from 1968 until December 1970 in the United States Army where he did foreign duty in Vietnam where he receive disabling wounds.
He was united in marriage with Janet Faye Sheppard who survives. Also surviving is his step son, Aaron Shearer and grandchildren: Hayden, Kinsley and Mariah Shearer. Also surviving are his siblings: Pam Newton, Debbie Perdue, Gina, Bobby and Donny Sheppard.
James was a retired sight supervisor with Adanta., and a member of the Medow Creek Baptist church. Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Friday, May 10, 2019 in the
funeral home chapel with Bro. Terry Munsey officiating. Burial was in
the Tuttle Cemetery.
Military Honors were presented by Wayne County Chapter 105 DAV.
