Bonnie Jewel Long age 82 of San Antonio, Texas passed away Thursday, May 9, 2019 at Unique Care Hospice Home. Jewell was born on September 15, 1936 and grew up on Old Piney Road in the Six Mile Community of Blount County, Tennessee.
She married Leonard Long in 1955 and lived many years in Toledo, Ohio. They returned for a short time to Maryville in the late 1970s. A short time later they moved to Arizona briefly before making San Antonio, Texas their home in 1982. They divorced in the late 1990s. Leonard returned to Tennessee, but Jewell lived the rest of her life in Texas.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jerry Coleman Hawn and Icyle Laura (Quiett) Hawn; her former husband, Leonard Leon Long and two sisters, Doris Virginia “Ginger” Munsey and Joan Marie Preston.
Cremation arrangements by Hillcrest Funeral Home, San Antonio, TX.
On June 8, 2019, as was her request, Jewell's ashes were buried with her parents on their graves at Six Mile Baptist Church Cemetery, Blount County, Tennessee.
