On May 9, 2019, Karen Marie Jensen passed away peacefully with family and friends surrounding her at Utah Valley Hospital. Karen was born in Gunnison, Utah, December 17, 1939, to Elbert Axel Modeen and Nelda Marie Hansen. Karen graduated from Provo High school in 1957. On the 31 of August 1962, Karen married James C. Jensen in Provo, Utah. They had one daughter Kim, who passed away in 2004.

Karen worked at Barbizon clothing factory in Provo, Utah for many years. After the plant closed, she was able to spend precious time with her daughter, Kim, on various bowling leagues throughout Provo and the Eastern part of the United States at various tournaments. Karen, Jim, and Kim would also travel to Wendover, Nevada, for an occasional trip to Wendover with Kim and Jim. In the summer Karen would spend time with Jim at Strawberry Reservoir camping and fishing. Even though she was a quiet and reserve person, once you got to know her you would find her to be a very caring and loving person.

Karen was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Kim, and husband Jim.

She is survived by her sister Geneal (Scott) Fitzgerald and many nieces and nephews.

We would like to thank all of the care givers at Utah Valley Hospital ICU department for their kindness and loving care they gave to Karen. Also, the Parkway Health and Rehab in Payson, Utah, for their care the short time she was with them. In lieu of flowers, please donate to your favorite charity.
