Jay Alfred Cooper, 55, of Forest, husband of Julie B. Cooper, passed away on Wednesday, May 8, 2019.

He was born on June 12, 1963 in Fremont, Ohio, son of the late Alfred J. Cooper and Rae Jean Beeker Cooper.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his father in law, Henry J. Butkiewicz.

Jay was a member of Mountain View United Methodist Church in Forest. He was a 1987 graduate of Kent State and was the former VP of sales for Gamma Par. At the time of his death Jay was a self-employed entrepreneur owning several businesses. He had a long and outstanding record of domestic and international sales and marketing. Among his other interests were his love of golf, NASCAR, the Issac Walton League Gun Club and along with his wife Julie, his love of going on cruises.

In addition to his wife Julie, he is survived by a brother, Chris Cooper; a sister, Ann Cooper Kresky and husband Tim; 6 nephews and nieces, Kit Kresky, Sam Kresky, Chad Spivack and girlfriend Jocelyn Sausner, Sam Siegel, Conner Siegel, and Jon Butkiewicz; mother in law, Dorothy Wait; 2 sisters in law, Annie Siegel and husband Oren and Jane Spivack and partner, Bob Brickles; brother in law, David Butkiewicz and wife Vicki; 1 uncle Bob Beeker and wife Carol; and cousins Bill Beeker and wife Donna and John Beeker and his late wife Tammy.

A celebration of life will be held at 3:00 pm on Saturday, May 11, 2019 at Mountain View United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends from 6 – 8 pm on Friday, May 10, 2019 at Whitten Timberlake Chapel.
