Faye J. Nelson, 80, Minot, died Tuesday, May 7, 2019 at Trinity Hospital surrounded by her loving family.

Faye J. Albertson was born February 25, 1939 in Powers Lake, ND to Milton and Orfie (Enget) She was raised in Powers Lake and graduated from Powers Lake High School in 1957. She attended Minot State Teachers College and attained a standard teaching certificate.

Faye returned to Powers Lake where she met Arlon Nelson who was working for Tri Our Electric. They were married in Powers Lake on April 11, 1959 and moved to Parshall, ND where she taught third grade at the Parshall Elementary School. In 1960, Arlon entered the US Army and was stationed in Germany. Faye accompanied Arlon overseas where their eldest son, Scott, was born.

In 1963, they returned to Parshall where their family grew after the birth of son Brent in 1964. In 1970, Faye and Arlon adopted daughter Chrisanne who rounded out a beautiful family of five.

Faye enjoyed crocheting and many other various crafts. She excelled at whatever she set her mind to. She taught herself to play guitar and violin. She displayed this talent by playing in various country western bands. She also loved giving guitar lessons to others.

She is survived by her husband Arlon, Minot of 60 years of marriage, sons Scott of Pierre, SD, and Brent (Karen) of Golden Valley, MN, daughter Chrisanne of Minot, five grandchildren, Cassandra, Edward, Natasha, Stephen, and Shalayna; sisters Iva (Don) Hysjulien and Celeste (Todd) Heibreder, both of Stanley, ND, sister-in-law, Sonia (Bijan) Zamir of Tucson, AZ along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Faye was preceded in death by her parents and brother Milton Jr. (Dude) Albertson.
