Gregory Cole Jr., 51, of Mercersburg, PA, passed away suddenly in a tragic accident.
Born Wednesday, November 8, 1967 in Hagerstown, MD, he was the son of Nancy Castle (husband Johnny) and Gregory Cole (wife Linda).
He graduated from Clear Spring High School where he was a member of the soccer team which became one of his life long passions. In addition to coaching and playing soccer he enjoyed fishing, hunting and traveling with his family.
He was a Correctional Officer for the state of Maryland where he was a Captain of the East SOG Team.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his loving wife, Joanna (Eckerdt) Cole, daughters Kaitlyn Cole, Abigail Cole, Amanda Cole and Brianna Cole, son Gregory Cole III, brother Matt (wife Nichole) and sister Michelle. He is also survived by his stepbrothers Marty (wife Tammy), Leon and John.
A memorial service will be held Friday, May 17, 2019, at 1 pm, at the Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home, 1331 Eastern Blvd. North Hagerstown, MD. Family will receive friends at the funeral home, Thursday, May 16, 2019, 3 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 pm.
Interment will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, PO BOX 758517, Topeka, KS 66675.
