Wanda Mathes Powell, 48, of Fletcher, passed away Sunday, July 15, 2018 at Mission Hospital. A native of Buncombe Co., Wanda was a daughter of the late Charles and Shirley Webb Mathes. Surviving are her daughter, Felicia Pegg (Jason); son, James Powell, Jr. (Kayla); sister, Tracy Parris (Dan); brother, Charles Mathes; grandchildren, Garrett and Macie Pegg and Mekenzee Powell; best friend, James Powell, Sr.; nieces, Dana and Amy Parris; and great niece and nephew, JaydaLynn Flores and Carson Young. A memorial service for Mrs. Powell will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, July 20, in the Patton Ave. Chapel of Groce Funeral Home.
