Television Personality. Co-hosted the animal documentary show Wild Kingdom with Marlin Perkins. The half hour show aired on NBC on Sunday nights from 1963 to 1971 when it entered first run syndication.The show was sponsored by Mutual of Omaha and was narrated by Perkins while Fowler interacted on camera with the various wild animals. Together they won four Emmys for outstanding program achievement in 1966, 1967, 1969 and 1970. Most of the shows aired after 1971 were repeats, but new shows continued to be produced until 1987. He became the sole host in 1985 when Perkins retired due to health issues. He made over 100 appearances on The Tonight Show, first with Johhny Carson and later with Jay Leno. He died at his home in Connecticut at the age of 89.
