Funeral services for Henry E. Butler, 68, of Choudrant, LA, will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, May 10, 2019, at Douglas United Methodist Church. Rev. Jeremy Jones and Rev. David Harrell will officiate. Interment will follow at Douglas Cemetery under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home in Ruston.
Henry was born on October 7, 1950 and passed away on May 8, 2019 at his home. After high school graduation, Henry served in the US Air Force. He was a member of Douglas United Methodist Church.
Left to cherish Henry’s memory are his wife Celeste Hughes Butler of Choudrant; daughters: Heather Droppert and husband Justin of Grimes, Iowa and Hannah Riggin and husband Joey of Ruston; grandchildren: Nash, Toby, Faith, and Tucker Henry Droppert, Ashlyn and Addie Grace Riggin; sister Evie DeGenung of Ruston; and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers honoring Henry will be David Shirey, Daniel Speir, Greg Bowers, Clinton Moore, Carl Maddox, Jr., Marty Lewis, and Jim Baldwin. Honorary pallbearers will be Richard Woodard, Billy Emory, Buster Evans, Charles Norman, and Scott Cupit.
Visitation will be on Friday, May 10 from 12:00 – 2:00 PM prior to the service at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Douglas UMC Children’s Ministry or to Douglas UMC Building Fund, 1642 Hwy. 821, Ruston, LA 71270.
