Willard Lee Green, 63, of Princeton, WV passed away on Tuesday, January 21, 2014 at Princeton Community Hospital in Princeton, WV. He joined the US Army in 1969 serving in Vietnam from 1970 to 1971 where he received the Bronze Star Medal; Willard was honorably discharged from the US Army in 1973. After being discharged from the Army he worked and retired from the United States Postal Service after 28 years of service. He also did long haul transpiration across the country. Willard was a member of the DAV and the VFW. He also loved football, cooking and reading.

Willard was born on June 1, 1950 in Welch, WV to the late Golden Willard Green (1928-2007) and Delma Yvonne Frazier-Green (1935-2005). He was preceded in death by three siblings, Unnamed Green (1957-1957), Terry Wayne Green (1958-1958), and Bobby Wayne Green (1962-1962).

Survivors Include two sons, Willard Lee Green Jr of Princeton, WV, and Matthew Green of Princeton, WV; a special niece, Leanna Walker; and a sister, Linda Green-Walker & husband Johnny Walker of Twin Branch, WV.

Funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 25, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell, West Virginia with Rev. Steve Walker officiating the service. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Bluewell, WV where the Mercer County Veterans Honor Guard will be conducting military graveside rites.
