Dale Michael McGinnis, 29 of Navasota, passed away Tuesday, April 30th in Flynn, Texas.
Michael was born on November 1, 1989 in Villa Rica, Georgia to David Michael McGinnis and Wanita Hollis. He graduated from Haralson County High School and worked briefly as an electrician. He began working in the oil field as a field supervisor and was offered a position near College Station, Texas. He then met and married Katy Leah Robinson and chose Navasota as their new home to start their family. He was a devoted husband and father to his two small children, Rileigh Kate and Cam Luke McGinnis. Michael thoroughly enjoyed his line of work, and in his down time his passion was the outdoors. Whether it was deer hunting or fishing, he was in his element with nature. He enjoyed all sports and was a devoted Texas Aggie football fan. Always positive and upbeat, he never met a stranger and had a smile that could light up the room. He looked forward to the end of the day, when his children and his devoted chocolate lab, Maybelle, would run to greet him at the door!
Michael is survived by his wife, Katy McGinnis of Navasota, his children, Rileigh and Cam McGinnis; mother and stepfather Wanita and Lewis Roberson; father David Michael McGinnis; sisters and brother-in-law Kristy and Tony Fitzgerald and Kacy Bennett; brothers and sister-in-law Jody Strickland and Jamie and Christy Fitzgerald; best friend and surrogate brother, Brian Harbison; devoted lab Maybelle and numerous friends and relatives.
He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Pa Jim McGinnis and Pop Ben Strickland and Uncle Dale McGinnis.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, May 8, 2019 between the hours of 5 pm and 9 pm.
