Frederick P. Gross, age 92, died on May 6, 2019 in Stillwater, Oklahoma with his family by his side. He was born in Cushing, Oklahoma on December 16, 1926 to Fred H. and Elvyra (Black) Gross.

He attended Cushing High School and married Barbara Bragg on June 19, 1954 in Stillwater, Oklahoma.

A retired brick and stone mason, he was a member of the International Union of Brick Layers and Allied Craftworkers. Fred worked on many home and commercial masonry projects in and around Stillwater and Oklahoma State University. He was part of the construction of the original OSU Student Union, the high-rise dormitories, and in 1970 the Chi Omega clock tower in the Student Union plaza. Always a master craftsman, he excelled in intricate woodworking projects during retirement years.

He was preceded by his parents and a sister, Erma Lee “Lisa” Gross Fulcher.

Surviving Fred is his wife, Barbara and daughters, Janet (Doug) Cooper and Carol (Paul) Shuler. Also surviving are grandchildren, Jeff M. Bays, Amy Bays Speaker, Jennifer Cooper O’Grady and Ryan S. Cooper. In addition are the great grandchildren, Halleigh Brown, Dane Speaker, Maddox Cooper, McKenna Speaker, Maebre Cooper, and Sage O’Grady.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm on Thursday, May 9, 2019 at the Strode Funeral Home Chapel with burial following at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
