Lois Mae (Scott) Higgins, 88, died Sunday, May 5, 2019 at her home in Branson, Mo.

She was born Feb. 22, 1931 to Frank and Faye Scott in Liberal.

She married Dale Higgins June 6, 1948 in Liberal. He survives.

She graduated from Liberal High School in 1948.

She was a successful and dedicated homemaker, wife and mother. She eventually began a career in the public school system as a food service employee, retiring after 28 years.

She began her battle with cancer in January 2007 and was a seven-year survivor.

She enjoyed camping with her family, boating, and time spent at the lake. She also enjoyed square dancing with her husband and was active in the Silver Spur OKC Square Dance Club.

She was a member of Draper Park Christian Church.

Survivors also include four daughters: Rita Smith of Albuquerque, N.M., Juanita Higgins, Kansas City, Mo., Sandra Roberts, Branson, Mo., and Trudi Stark, Olathe; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Don Scott; infant son, Jimmy Dale; daughter, Carolyn Sue; and son, Timothy Everett.

• There will be a Celebration of Life service at 11 a.m. Friday, May 10, 2019 at Greenlawn Funeral Home in Branson, Mo., with Pastor David Patrick presiding.
