Jimmy Arnold Carr, Sr., age 82, passed away Friday May 3, 2019, at Baptist Desoto Hospital in Southaven, Mississippi.

A memorial service will be 3:00 P.M. Tuesday, May 7, 2019, in the Martin Wilingham Memorial Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the family receiving friends prior to the service beginning at 1:00 P.M.

Jimmy was born June 21, 1936 in Batesville, MS to the late Littleton and Mary Tidwell Carr. He was a member of the Batesville Church of Christ and former Elder of the Central Academy Church of Christ. Jimmy taught Civil Engineering for Northwest Community College for twenty-five years. He loved driving, studying his Bible and wrote many Bible lessons. Jimmy was very involved in prison ministry, where he baptized many people.

Jimmy's memory will be cherished by his wife of fifty-two years, Diane Holliman Carr of Batesville, MS; daighter-in-law, Amy Candace Carr of Austin, TX; sister, Mary Ann Carr Martin of Sardis, MS; two brothers, Charles E. Carr of Jackson, MS, Clyde R. Carr of Batesville, MS; grandson, Landon Cole Carr of Austin, TX; brother-in-law, Clarence "Bud" Holliman and his wife, Jenny, of Strayhorn, MS; numerous nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, Jimmy was preceded in death his son, Jimmy "Jimbo" Arnold Carr, Jr.

Memorial may sent to the Sardis Lake Christian Camp, 176 Four H Camp Rd., Batesville, MS. 38606.
