Matthew Ross Hamilton, 18, passed away Sunday, May 5, 2019 in Florence, MS. The family will receive friends for visitation on Tuesday, May 7th from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. and again Wednesday, May 8th from 9:00 a.m. until the 10:00 a.m. Funeral Service all at Chancellor Funeral Home in Florence. Burial will follow at Lakewood South Memorial Park on McCluer Road in Jackson.
Matthew was born June 8, 2000 to Gary and Ruthie Hamilton in Jackson, MS. He was a 2018 graduate of Florence High School. Matthew was a fun-loving guy who loved 4-wheelers and jacked up trucks. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was very outgoing and generous and loved by many friends and family that will miss him dearly.
Matthew is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Bob and Ladell Hamilton and his aunt, Beverly Hamilton.
He is survived by his parents, Gary and Ruthie Hamilton of Florence; sister, Ashley Nicole Birdsong of Florence; maternal grandparents, Barbara and Thomas Newell of Jackson; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family members.
