Joe Goodwin, 75, of El Centro passed away Saturday, May 26.
He was born January 5, 1932 in Graham, OK. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1951 to 1954, after which he joined the Civil Service as a firefighter. In 1987 he retired as Fire Chief from the Fire Department at NAF in El Centro.
Graveside services will be held Friday, June 1 at 9 a.m. at Evergreen Cemetery in El Centro.
He was preceded in death by his father, Sherman; mother, O'Dessa; brother, Sherman and sister, Margine.
Joe is survived by his wife Pam; sons and daughter-in-law, Joe and Elsa of La Mesa, Sherman and Melanie of El Centro, and Patrick of Chula Vista; grandchildren, David, Anna, Matthew, Luke and Nathan; sister, Jackie Freeman of Graham, OK., and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral arrangements are being handled by Hems Brothers Mortuary in El Centro.
