Ruby Haley Freeman was born January 30, 1915 in Van Zandt County, Texas, to Eddie Murs McMillon and Robert Daniel Haley. She passed away November 8, 2002 in Great Plains Regional Medical Center, Elk City, Oklahoma at the age of 87 years 9 months and 8 days.

Ruby was married to Johnny Freeman at Arnett, Oklahoma on June 2, 1934 and they moved to Robert Mills County in 1952. Ranching and rodeos were a way of life and Ruby was Johnny's partner in every aspect. She enjoyed traveling and had visited in almost every state of the nation.

She was a faithful member of the Church of Christ in Cheyenne, teaching, preparing for meetings, visiting people in the community. If the doors of the church were open, Ruby was there and willing to work.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 3 brothers and 4 sisters.

Services were held Monday, November 11, 2002 at 10:30 a.m. at the Cheyenne Cemetery, Cheyenne, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma under the direction of Rose Chapel Funeral Service.

Survivors include: two sons, and daughter-in-law, Joe Freeman of Cheyenne, Oklahoma; Lindsey and Pamela Freeman of Claremore, Oklahoma; six grandchildren, Tony Freeman, Krista Ellis, Misty Brooks, and Nikole Freeman; two sisters, Melba Mott of Quanah, Texas, Dessie Brooks of Lafayette, Louisiana and a host of relatives and friends.
