Clara Lou (Ray) Lewis Morgan passed away Saturday, May 4, 2019, at the Gibson Family Center for Hospice Care from a brief, unexpected illness. Her family was at her side. Clara Lou was born on April 9, 1929, in Dennison, Illinois. Her parents were Vern and Frances (Cole) Ray.

She attended Patton School in Dennison, Illinois. She was the sixth and the last surviving of ten children.

Clara Lou married Daniel D. Morgan, April 10, 1965, joining a union of seven children.

She is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Dan D. Morgan; and her children, Larry (Linda) Lewis of Mooresville, Indiana, Paul (Teresa) of West Terre Haute, Mary Ann (Daniel) Gunder of Terre Haute, Dan (Dot) Morgan of Fort Worth, Texas, Emily (deceased) and Terry Warren of Terre Haute, Melinda (Tracy) Williamson of Shelbyville, Indiana, and Terri (Jim) Acton of Bloomington, Indiana. She is also survived by 18 grandchildren and spouses, Mark Lewis, Amanda Ruschmeier, Kaylm Lewis, Sarah (Corey Fagg), Katie (Evan Miller), Chad (Katie King), Josh and Jeremy Gunder, Jenny Robinson, Rachel (Amy Morgan), Lauren Morgan, T.J (Laurie Warren), Justin (Alex Warren), Melissa (Chris Colbert), Greg (Lynn Jones), Sarah Jones, J.D (Brittany Meyer), Adam (Lauren Meyer), Ryan (Melissa Acton) and Robin Acton; 31 great-grandchildren; and 6 great-great-grandchildren.

She is also survived by one aunt, Helen Davis; and two sisters-in-law, Fran and Dorothy Ray; and many special nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Stanley Lewis; one daughter, Emily; three sisters, Laverna, Doyne and Eileen; six brothers, Bill, Wayne, George, Bob, Earl and Carroll; and aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

She retired after 29 years of service with the Sisters of Providence, St. Mary-of-the-Woods. She was an active member of the Order of the Eastern Star #428, the Daughters of the Nile and Westside Ladies Red Hat Society.

Entombment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park.
