Professional Football Player. For eleven seasons (1968 to 1978), he played at the running back position in the National Football League with the St. Louis Cardinals, Green Bay Packers and Kansas City Chiefs. He attended Fremont High School in California, where he excelled in basketball and track and field. He later worked for a machine shop, prior to enrolling at Merritt College, where he played collegiate football. He transferred to Utah State University where he finished his collegiate years and was selected by the St. Louis Cardinals as the 13th overall pick during the 1968 NFL Draft. In 1970, he distinguished himself when he led the NFL with 11 rushing touchdowns and earned Pro-Bowl honors. In 133 career regular season games, he compiled 4,656 rushing yards and 30 touchdowns. After retiring from football, he was the proprietor of rental properties. Additionally, he was involved in several charitable causes.
