"The Pike County Democrat: Friday, September 29, 1916
"Great surprise, mingled with regret, followed the announcement of the death of Mrs Zerula Kinman, which sad event occurred at three o'clock Thursday afternoon, September 21, 1916. Death was caused by paralysis, at her home on upper Main Street. The deceased was the wife of W H Kinman, for many years a local rural route mail carrier of this city. For many years, she was a faithful member of the C P Church, and accomplished much good in the cause of Christianity during her life of 55 years, 10 months, 21 days. She was a true wife, a devoted mother, a faithful friend. Besides her husband, two sons and one daughter survive her, all of this city. Saturday morning at ten o'clock her funeral services were conducted at the First Baptist Church by the pastor, Rev A A Cohn. A freshly made mound in Walnut Hills Cemetery marks her burial place."
