She was vice president of PEO Chapter HC Illinois. She had served as a Brownie and Girl Scout leader for her daughters. Kimberly was a charter member of New Hope Presbyterian Church in St. Charles. She was active in her children's school as a parent and as a substitute paraprofessional. She served on the Oswego School District Character Counts Committee.
