Rodney Married Sarah VanOrmann in Sangamon County, Illinois on April 2, 1857. He had children: Mary L. Stafford, William Nelson Stafford, Ruebon C Stafford, and Arthur C Stafford. In 1880 all children were at living at home with William and Sarah, along with Sarah's Mother Mary VanOrmann.

DEATH
R.N. STAFFORD
Rodney N. Stafford died at 8 a.m. Thursday Jan. 17, at his home two and one-half miles northwest of the city, aged 66 years. Lung fevor was the cause of death. Mr. Stafford was a veteran of the Civil war and lately had suffered greatly on account of two wounds he received during the war.
Mr. Stafford's mother-in-law, Mrs Mary Van Ornam, aged 98 years, died about a week ago. A wife and three children survived Mr. Stafford.
The funeral will be Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the residence.

Services for Rodney Stafford in Morning.
The funeral of the late Rodney N. Stafford will be held Saturday morning at 10 a.m. o'clock from the residence, two and one-half miles northwest of the city. The time was changed from 2 o'clock in the afternoon as at first announced.

Capps? conducted the services and the burial was at Greenwood Cemetery. The pall bearers was David Moore, W.H.Las?ta. G.W. Lyord?, L.N.Martin, ?et? Good and ? Trest?m.
