Richard Rodney "Rod" Warner, 69, of Longville, La., died at 7:10 p.m. on Tuesday, June 28, 2016.

Mr. Warner was born Aug. 24, 1946, in Orange, Texas, was a 1966 graduate of Lake Charles High School and attended McNeese State University. He served his country in the U.S. Air Force and was an electrician for the IBEW #861, where he retired after over 35 years of service. Mr. Warner was raised in the Baptist faith and loved spending time with his family. He also enjoyed fishing, working around the yard and was a car enthusiast. During his younger years he enjoyed spending time on his boat, shrimping and camping.

Mr. Warner is survived by his wife of 38 years, Rosie Warner; five sons, Rodney Warner Jr. and wife Delicia of Lake Charles, Joey Warner and wife Lynette "Nette" of Longville, Daniel Warner and wife Jennifer of Moss Bluff, Josh Warner and wife Melissa of Lake Charles, and Brandon Warner and wife Morgan of Jacksonville, N.C.; brother, Frank Warner and wife Debbie of Pineville; grandchildren, Whitney Warner, Holly Warner, Gage Mouton, Makenah Mouton, Karlie Houtton and husband Joseph, Jayde Warner, Bayley Warner, Gavin Warner and Isla Warner; grandchild on-the-way, Emalyn Warner; and his beloved dog, Shadow.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank Warner and Viva Elliott and husband Dave; and brother, Jerry Warner.

His cremation was entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home. His memorial service will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 2, 2016, at First Moss Bluff (First Baptist Church of Moss Bluff). Fellowship will follow the service.
