Obituary for James A. Britt
Mr. James A. Britt, age 61 of Winder, Ga, received his eternal homecoming on Saturday, May 4, 2019. Jim is survived by his beloved wife of 44 years, Mrs. Shirley Britt; his daughter, Christina Bombelyn (Jason) of Loganville, Ga; his son, James (Ben) Britt of Winder, Ga; two grandchildren, Brittany and Matthew Myers; two sisters, Denese Britt of Lawrenceville, Ga and Felica Mulkey of Waco, Texas. Mr. Britt’s extended family includes several aunts and uncles; as well as nieces and nephews.
Jim was a native of East Point, Ga. He was born in Atlanta, Ga, and lived most of his life in the areas surrounding Gwinnett County. Jim attended Colonial Hills Christian School and worked for Norfolk Southern Railway as an engineer. He was a member of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers. Jim loved his wife, children, and grandchildren. Spending time with family made him the happiest. He enjoyed fishing, loved a good book, and his Georgia Bull Dawgs.
The Funeral Service to honor and celebrate the life of Mr. James A. Britt will be held on Monday, May 6, 2019 at 12:00 PM at Tom M. Wages Snellville Chapel, with Rev. David Corley officiating. Interment will follow at Fairview Memorial Gardens, Stockbridge, Ga. The family will receive friends on Sunday, May 5, 2019 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
