Carolyn D. Richards (Baehm) was born March 8, 1942 to the now deceased Frank & Fern Baehm. Carol passed away April 28, 2019. She is survived by her husband, Donald C. Richards; daughter Michelle R. Filley; son Paul P. Rosenstein; four grandchildren Amanda Lahmann, Sarah Filley, Aiden Rosenstein, Alyssa Rosenstein; her two step-children Gwendolyn Vandenburgh and Jennifer Shepherd; four step-grandchildren Johnathan Vandenburgh, William Vandenburgh , Hannah Shepherd, and Leah Shepherd.Carol grew up in Yakima, Washington and had a major interest in horses and 4H activities. She participated in horse play days and raising 4-H beef cattle. She was a member of the Applet Riding Club. She graduated from West Valley High School in 1960. She attended Brigham Young University and other Washington State University graduating from Central Washington State University with a Bachelor Degree in Psychology. She worked for the Red Cross in Germany, Social Services in South Carolina, and 26 years with the Dept. of Children and Families as a Protective Investigation Supervisor in New Port Richey Florida. She retired in March 2000 and did extensive traveling with her husband across all 50 states and went to all Canadian Provinces. She sailed with her husband around the Caribbean and Florida. She traveled all of Great Brittan, Germany, Italy and other European countries. She also enjoyed gardening, especially her roses. Carol will be missed by her many relatives and friends from all across the country. A Celebration of Life will be held Wednesday, May 8 from 6-8 pm at Palm Harbor Life Celebration Centre. Carol will be laid to rest Thursday, May 9 at 9am at Serenity Gardens Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations made be made in her honor to the American Diabetic Association.
