George Herr didn’t have a middle name and that was something he was always proud of. He was born on 12/31/27, a New Year’s Eve Birth!! Another thing he was always happy about and it always made an extra special New Year’s Eve!
He was born in Chewelah, Washington to Arthur Herr and Jewel Forst. He was married on 1/18/1986 to his surviving wife, Solange French, and is also survived by daughter Debbie Tolbert (Mike), granddaughter Nicole Tolbert, and son, Michael Herr.
George served in the Armed Forces out of Fort Lawton, Washington. He was a longtime member of the Lynnwood Elks Club. He was a participant in the Elks “Koffee Klutch” which constantly supported their Elks and our Lynnwood and Edmonds Communities.
He was a motorcycle policeman for King County and proudly worked the Seafair Parade and of course the Seafair Hydro Planes. He also served as a part-time Edmonds Policeman in his retirement years patrolling the Edmonds beach beat. A familiar face to many.
An avid golfer to say the least. Whether he was marshaling, teaching, coaching or playing he was known on several local golf courses and participated in many tournaments. Telling his many jokes and often a winner!
George will rest in peace now at Holyrood Cemetery.
