He served in the U.S. Army, was a construction worker, and a member of the First Church UPCI.

He is survived by his parents, James and Esther Katherine Abbott of Batesville; one son, Jimmy Wayne Abbott of Madisonville, Kentucky; one daughter, Lisa Abbott Otts of Waynesville, North Carolina; three brothers, Ron Abbott of Batesville, Billy Abbott of Madisonville, Kentucky, Danny Abbott of Memphis, Tennessee; three sisters, Marcia Cole of Batesville, Kathy Sullivan of Lonoke, Sandra White of Batesville; two grandchildren, Ashley Bush of Waynesville, North Carolina, Craig Colburn of Byhalia, Mississippi; one great-grandchild, Madison Bush of Waynesville, North Carolina; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Kathy Abbott.

Visitation will be from 1:00-5:00 PM, Sunday, June 26, 2005.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM, Monday, June 27, 2005 at the Roller-Crouch Funeral Home Chapel in Batesville with Brother M. D. Parmley officiating.

Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens under the direction of Roller-Crouch Funeral Home of Batesville.
