Mr Joseph John Andrews
The funeral of Mr John Andrews was held Thursday afternoon, July 3 from his late residence, 20 Thomas Street, Carleton Place to the Auld Kirk Cemetery, Almonte. The service was conducted by the Rev D. Munro, assisted by the Rev Mr. McCord. Born in Ramsay Township Mr Andrews was a son of the late Thomas Andrews and Rebecca Kemp. he spent most of his life in Ramsay Township near Almonte where he farmed until fourteen years ago when he moved to Carleton Place. He was first married to the late Jennie Munson who died in 1915. His second wife, who was the former Annie Moore died in 1938. He was later married to the former Lucina Cunningham Waddell. Survivors include his widow, one sister, Mrs James Smith, Almonte; two sons, David and William on the homestead; two daughters, Pearl, Mrs Thos Swazzie of Detroit, Mich.; Jennie, Mrs Clemeth Huff of Toronto. The pallbearers were six of the old farm neighbours, Messrs Ernie Robertson, Lester Jamieson, J.B. Turner, Lloyd Watson, Alton Matthews and Wesley Rae. The floral offerings were many and very beautiful. The cortege was a very large one showing the esteem in which the late Mr Andrews was held.
