Karla Sue Young, 55, of Greenwood passed away peacefully Saturday, April 27, 2019 at Franciscan Health in Indianapolis surrounded by her loving family.
Born, June 13, 1963 in Indianapolis, she was the daughter of Betty (Wampler) Ely and step-daughter to Jay Ely.
Karla was a Business Systems Consultant Associate for Family and Social Services for the State of Indiana. She was an active, reliable, and loving friend to many and who never met a stranger. Karla enjoyed camping, bow hunting, dogs, barrel racing and being around horses. She also pursued a pilots license. Her love for life showed in her passion for dancing.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Thursday, May 2, 2019 at The Funeral Chapel of Powell and Deckard, 3000 E. Third St. in Bloomington.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday at The Funeral Chapel with Tom Ellsworth officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Gilead Cemetery.
