An architect. Son of Charles and H (or Marie) Mainon. Married twice. First in 1880 to Mary Ellen Mainon (d. 1890). Secondly to Jeannie Hurry Butt in Cape Town. Lived at St Albans, Norfolk Road, Sea Point, Cape Town. Played 2 cricket matches for Western Province. Died at home from a cerebral haemorrhage aged 81 years. No issue.
