Doris L. (Schuyler) McCarty Massey - September 1, 1929 - November 5, 2016
Doris L. McCarty Massey of Easton died at Genesis the Pines on November 5, 2016. She was 87. Born in Bethlehem, MD, on September 1, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Harvey Schuyler and Cynthia Cole Schuyler. She graduated from Cambridge High School. On July 2, 1948 she married the late George W. McCarty, Jr. He died on October 11, 1992. She then married M. Wilson Massey on October, 16 1993. He died on March 23, 2002. She was a book keeper for many years at various businesses. After retiring, she worked at the front desk of Easton Memorial Hospital until 2009. She was an active alumnus of her class helping to organize reunions. She was a member of St. Marks Church in Easton and the Ruth Circle. She was a CASA volunteer and active in the Girl Scouts for many years. Doris was also an Auxiliary volunteer at Easton Memorial Hospital. The last two years of her life she resided at The Pines where was active in the Cooking, Baking and Gardening Clubs. Mrs. Massey is survived by 5 children, 6 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, 2 sisters, and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother Earl Schuyler. A special thank you to the caring staff at The Pines. A Memorial Service will be held at Real Life Chapel Church of the Nazarene, Easton, MD, on Saturday, November 19th, 2016 at 11:00 A.M.
