Rose Cameron Morris, 93, January 2, 1926 – May 2, 2019. Rose Cameron Morris passed away peacefully, surrounded by family at Westminster Winter Park Towers in Winter Park, Florida. Born in Hattiesburg, MS, to Thomas Franklin and Grace Elizabeth Cameron, Mrs. Morris attended Hotel Dieu Nursing School, in New Orleans, LA, where she met her future husband on a blind date. In 1944, she married Dr. Joseph Henry Morris, and soon after moved to Panama City, Florida, where she and her husband settled and raised their four children. After Hurricane Michael destroyed her home, Mrs. Morris was relocated to Winter Park, FL to live at Westminster Towers Winter Park. While she continued to mourn the loss of her home and city, she spent the last six months of her life enjoying visits with her family.

She is survived by her children Dr. Joseph (Linda) Morris, Newnan, GA, Tippy (Steve) Davis, Orlando, FL, Dr. Rodney (Mae) Morris, Panama City, FL and Dr. Gilbert (Cindy) Morris, New Orleans, LA, as well as 10 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased in death by her husband of 66 years and her brothers Thomas and Robert Cameron.

Mrs. Morris will be remembered for her family parties where food, fun and laughter flowed. Her family is grateful to her caretakers of almost 20 years in Panama City, the nurses and staff at Westminster Towers and Cornerstone Hospice. A graveside service will take place on Sunday May 5, 2019, at 4 p.m. in the Evergreen Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations to be made to one’s favorite charity in Rose’s honor, or to Cornerstone Hospice (cshospice.org).
