Former Goreville resident Doris White Parks, 90, of Austin, TX, passed away Monday, April 29, 2019, of congestive heart failure.

She was born November 10, 1928, in St. Anne, IL, the daughter of Ralph and Clara White.
Doris married Francis Leo Parks in 1954. He preceded her in death March 3, 2009.

Doris graduated from St. Mary’s School of Nursing in 1949. She served as a nurse for 45 years in Illinois at the Edward Hines Jr. Veterans Administration, Presence St. Mary’s Hospital and Riverside Medical Center. She also served as village treasurer for Union Hill, IL, where she lived for more than 30 years. She enjoyed genealogy, reading, traveling, camping, gardening and cooking for family gatherings.

Surviving is her son, sister, brother and sisters-in-law.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; son, Joel Parks; and brothers, Richard White and Wayne White.

Cremation rites have been accorded. A memorial service and picnic will be held 12:30 PM May 25th at Webb Cemetery east of Goreville, IL. Family and friends are welcome.
