Arthur James Manning, Jr., 71, of Fairmont, passed from this life Sunday April 28, 2019 at the United Hospital Center. He was born in Fairmont on April 24, 1948 a son of the late Arthur J., Sr. and Mary Alice Willie Manning.
Jim was a Christian by faith. He held a position in the maintenance department at the Holiday Inn before becoming disabled. He enjoyed both flower and vegetable gardening and watching westerns.
Mr. Manning is survived by his son Arthur J. Manning, III of California; three sisters Helen Morrison, with whom he made his home, Barbara Copen of Fairmont and Mary Jane Edwards of Indiana; three brothers and three sisters-in-law Eugene Edward (Sarah) Manning and Robert Lee Manning both of Fairmont, Sharon Manning of Pennsylvania and Donald Ray (Kim) Manning of Core.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Guadalupe Manning on August 7, 1998 and one brother David Lynn Manning.
There will be no funeral home visitation. A procession will leave the Frey Home For Funerals parking lot at 1:45 pm Friday for a graveside committal service at Grandview Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Jim Zinn officiating, for anyone wishing to attend.
