Nancy Dean (Southwood) Scherer, 76, of Evansville, Indiana, passed away Thursday, May 2, 2019 at Deaconess Midtown Hospital. Nancy was born in Evansville, Indiana on September 23, 1942 to Forrest Lee and Arletha (Saalweachter) Southwood.
She was a Bus Driver for North Posey for over 20 years. Nancy enjoyed crocheting afghans, playing BINGO, and was a member of St. Peter's United Church of Christ.
Nancy is survived by her children, Genie Mae Hulsey (Don), Don David "Shakey" Scherer, and Katha Jo Weigant (Joey); mother, Arletha (Saalweachter) Southwood; sister, Diana Motz (Gary); and grandchildren, Josiah Hulsey (Courtney), Abigail Oestreich (Henry), Grace Gregas (Aaron), Isaac Hulsey, Austin Scherer, Lauren Weigant, Jacob Weigant, and Jordan Weigant.
Nancy was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years in 2005, Ronnie Scherer and by her father, Forrest Lee Southwood.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, May 6, 2019 at Browning Funeral Home, 738 Diamond Ave., Evansville, IN 47711. Burial will follow at St. Peter's United Church of Christ Cemetery in Wadesville, IN.
