“Jack”, age 83, of Braidwood, IL passed away Thursday, April 4, 2019 at the Joliet Area Hospice Home in Joliet, IL. WV
Born on May 25, 1935 in Braidwood, IL to the late John James and Barbara (nee Zajicek) McElroy. He married Shirley Mae Ruzek on May 28, 1955 in Braidwood and they made their home in Braidwood.
Jack loved fishing with his cigar, riding in his golf cart, watching western movies and listening to old time country music.
Surviving are his wife, Shirley McElroy; sons, Keith (Denise) McElroy and Kevin (Cheryl) McElroy; daughter, Cheryl (Larry) Maly; brothers, Loren McElroy and Bob McElroy; seven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were his parents and brother, Pat McElroy.
Funeral service will be held at the R.W. Patterson Funeral Home & Crematory on Monday, April 8, 2019 at 10:30 am with Pastor Dale Tolly officiating. Interment will follow at the Braceville-Gardner Cemetery in Braceville, IL. Visitation will be Sunday, April 7, 2019 from 4 pm to 7 pm.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations in his name may be directed to the Joliet Area Community Hospice or the Braidwood First Presbyterian Church.
