Nancy Rae Hardcastle, beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully in her beloved home of many happy memories.

Nancy is survived by her children Jessica Rae Smith (Kalani Segi) and David Hardcastle, three grandchildren; Casey Rae Smith, Gavin Xaiver Hakim, December Rae Hakim and great-grandson Cache Orlando Lane Smith, as well as many other amazing family members.

Nancy was born in Chico, California to loving parents, father Allen Ray Curtis and mother Kay Curtis on March 17, 1961 (A lucky birthday, St. Patrick's Day). She was the baby of the family with three older sisters; Debbie, Susan and Janie. She grew up mostly in Provo and went to Dixon Jr. High School. She was passionate about learning and got an Associate’s Degree in business at Stevens-Henager College. She had a long career at Nature's Herbs and then followed in her Mother's and sister Debbie’s foot-steps working at Standard Optical for many years. Later, her daughter Jessica continued the tradition by work at Standard Optical as well. Nancy spent the last few years working on genealogy for the LDS church.

She was a young, but doting mother to her first child Jessica Rae Smith, who was a bright star in both the Curtis and Smith families. When Kim Tolman Hardcastle came into her life, she was swept off her feet and eloped in secret. They set down roots in West Jordan and soon David Hardcastle was born.

Nancy was grateful for the love of her life, the late Kim Tolman Hardcastle who she cared for until his death. She was a very proud mother of her daughter Jessica, son David, three beautiful grandchildren and one great-grandson that brought her joy.

Nancy has returned home to heaven with her husband and will rest in eternal peace.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Lisa Curtis and Dennis & Marsha Hardcastle for their help and support during this difficult time.

Please join Nancy and family for a grave site service at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 E. 10600 S. in Sandy, UT on Friday, May 3, 2019 at 2:00 pm. A luncheon will follow at the LDS church in West Jordan located at 8173 S. 3200 W., West Jordan, UT.
